As a student at "La Sorbonne" in the late 80's, in the heart of Paris, I always spent a good amount of time in Cafes, around the Latin Quarter, between classes, sipping espresso one after another, doing homework and listening to Serge Gainsbourg's song "La Javanaise" playing in the radio waves. That was before the internet age. We now have iPod and satellite radio.

This Cafe is a collection of images from my early 20's in Paris. We want "La Javanaise" to be a place for fresh coffee, strong espresso and a good "casse-croute", an alternative to coffee and restaurant chains or just a place to meet friends.  We support and serve premium quality locally roasted coffee, health conscious and great tasting bagels, grilled flatbread, paninis, salads and more... Most items on our menu are started from scratch. Come experience our inventive offerings and attentive service in a casual yet chic setting.
To my Mom and Dad in Paris, this second Cafe is dedicated to you who taught me hard work.

William.
